Andreas Kleanthous, advocate and partner at Kleanthous & Platis law firm in Nicosia, Cyprus

Andreas Kleanthous, Partner

Andreas has practised law in Cyprus for over three decades, across litigation, personal injury, administrative law, real estate and contract matters. In personal injury he acts on both sides of the claim: insurance companies regularly instruct him to defend claims in court, and he equally acts for injured people pursuing the compensation they are owed. He recovers debts for clients who are owed money, conducts a wide range of civil litigation, and has a particular specialty in wills, probate and the administration of estates. He prepares wills, obtains grants of probate and acts as administrator, handling estates quickly and cleanly and guiding families through the process with the least possible delay and disruption. Clients rely on him for tactical judgement built over hundreds of cases, thorough preparation and firm advocacy.

Klitos Platis, advocate and partner at Kleanthous & Platis law firm in Nicosia, Cyprus

Klitos Platis, Partner

Klitos advises on litigation, corporate and commercial law, real estate, construction and energy. He holds a law degree and studied economics, which shapes a commercial approach to legal problems, and he completed the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) in England and Wales, which sharpened his advocacy and courtroom work. He is a Certified Trainer of the Human Resource Development Authority of Cyprus and holds a certification in arbitration from the Cyprus Consumer Centre.

He takes care of much of the firm’s contentious work, from complex commercial disputes through to trial. He works fluently within the Civil Procedure Rules 2023 that reshaped litigation in Cyprus, and is equally at home in court and in arbitration. He runs a case from end to end: pleadings, interim applications, written submissions and the preparation of witness statements, as well as advocacy at the hearing itself. His disputes work extends to construction and contract claims, property disputes, and recovery of debts. Alongside his practice, Klitos writes the firm’s legal publications and has been featured in Fintechview magazine on smart contracts, proptech and the use of AI in law. Clients value his attention to detail, responsiveness and clear advice.
